David Marišler

Born 4/5/1975 in Rychnov nad Kněžnou. He started his musical career at the local School of Music in 1980. Graduated from Pardubice Conservatory in clarinet and continued at JAMU in Brno where he completed his studies. During his studies he received numerous awards and honors. He took part in the international competition Concertino di Praga where he was awarded the III. Price statewide (1992). He also received a prestigious award at the competition of Conservatoires in the Czech Republic (1994). At the same time he was awarded as a member of a folk-rock band “Načisto” (competition at the Region Folk Music Festival “Porta” 1994) where he received a special honor as a top saxophonist. Then he improved his education in the special clarinet courses in Weimar in Germany with Francois Benda as a guest professor in 1997.From 1996 to 2001 he was a permanent member of The Olomouc Philharmonic Orchestra. At this time he took part in “Deutsche Turne 2000” with a singer José Cura etc.

D. Marišler also appeared as a guest clarinetist with many other orchestras in the Czech Republic. The National Theatre orchestra Prague, The Czech National orchestra, The Pardubice Theatre and The Klicpera Theatre in Hradec Králové). From 2001 to 2003 he was employed by the Swiss Agency “Scala Theater Basel”. With this Agency he made several concert series in Germany and Scandinavia. In 2002 he appeared as clarinet soloist in the frame of “Festival der Operete” in Scandinavia. David Marišler is able to move easily between classical concert repertory and other musical styles. At the beginning of 2005 he started to perform as a clarinetist and saxophonist with ensemble Blue Star which deals with 1930s and 1940s Swing Music. In addition to his orchestra career David Marišler is also a teacher of music (saxophone and clarinet) at the School of Music Habrmanova in Hradec Králové and Conservatory of Pardubice.
